LOL.. Genius - everybody knows the owner is ANNIE, a Chinese woman.

How does Ganges keep winning? I've been to the SLT one and it wasn't so great. Getting a seat there can be troublesome as well. Mirch Masala, for my money, is the best. And why no Xinjiang category? If you're having Sihuan and Yunnan, should have Xinjiang, and my vote would go the one in the Xinjing representative office near the zoo.

I agree with the title of the Best affordable Italian restaurant went to Annie‘s. Nearly the best service could be that too.

But let me make a note. Since she (Annie) opened her new branch in Sanlitun, they took there the experienced stuff and they work fine as always. Meantime they hired new people (never seen them, act unexperienced) to the 3rd Ring road, AEC restaurant, and it was disappointing. Got cold pizza after waiting for it a while and they mixed up our orders too. Never happened before. Please somebody do something with them@#$%^&@! That was my favorite spot for Italian food. Congratulation by the way!

Union, by the way, narrowly missed getting an "outstanding" in the categories they competed in (Best American, Best Burger, Best Brunch (Affordable).

Drilling down into the data more deeply revealed that North American voters indeed selected Union as an Outstanding choice in the Best American category (along with Element Fresh (Best) and Chef Too (Outstanding)

Din Tai Fung does dim sum?
Tairyo Teppanyaki wins a Japanses category? Come on.....it's a buffet of truly average proprotions. Good Lord.
Imagine telling a Japanese person, yes, this place won OUTSTANDING Japanese Restaurant. Their reply would be, "Well Beijingers think that California rolls and garbage covered in mayo represents the BEST Japanese restaurant Beijing has to offer, so what would you expect?" Seriously, does the average Joe think that Hatsune is good Japanese? Roll after roll of creative yet unashamedly awful variations on a God-damned California roll.
There's a category for Kung Pao Chicken? They are war-mongerers. Do we really need a category like this just to satisfy them?
Saddle Cantina best Tex-Mex. I'm stopping here. Are people just voting for places they've been to? FFS.
