A Mishmash of Fun: Mango Club in Wudaokou
Throngs of students cram Mango’s entrance and snaking stairwells, which open up to a giant pool hall/bar. The expansive space is a mishmash of various types of fun: alcohol, pool tables and even – ahem – computers.
Drinks are reasonable at RMB 25-35, so toss ‘em down without guilt before venturing onto the dance floor – it’s almost twice as big as Propaganda’s, but doesn’t get as uncomfortably packed. With concrete walls and floors, the atmosphere is reminiscent of a garage – only with pulsating hip-hop beats, flashing blue lights and sweaty bodies.
The few tables lining the walls are small and dismal; this clearly isn’t the place for classy bottle service. If a Wudaokou venue combining games, dancing and the devil’s sauce is what you’re after, though, you’ve met your match.
Good for: Students, late-night dancing
Also try: Propaganda, Bar Blu
