How to get your hands on some Paralympic Tickets

Tickets to the Paralympics have been available online for over two months now but sales have started to pick up in the last week with tickets to the Sailing and all the events at the Bird's Nest, Water Cube all selling out. However, there are still plenty of tickets to events like Goalball and the Wheelchair Basketball.

You have two options for purchasing tickets:

The Official Ticketing Website

As all 7 days newsletter readers would know, Paralympic tickets have been available online from Jun 20. You need to register on the official site and are limited to purchasing a maximum of 5 tickets to 2 sessions each time you process an order. However, after your first order goes through, you are able to go back and purchase more tickets to other sessions. Online ticket sales will end when all the tickets have sold out or at 6pm on Sep 14.

Those who have already purchased tickets online can now pick up their tickets at their nominated Bank of China branch. You have until September 17 to do this and you should take your passport with you.

At Select Bank of China Branches

From August 15, Paralympic tickets have also been available over the counter at 30 Bank of China branches around town– click here for full list.

Update: The ticketing authority have announced that as of Aug 28, 18 more Bank of China outlets will be selling tickets.

You should take your passport (no need for a resident's permit though – tourists can also purchase tickets) and you can pay for the tickets with either cash or Visa card. As with online purchasing there is a limit on the amount of tickets you can buy at the Bank of China. Each individual can only purchase a maximum of 5 tickets each for two sessions each time they line up. If you want to buy more tickets, you can go to the end of the queue and line up again, though it might just be easier to take some friends with you.

Sales of tickets stop when all the tickets have sold out or at the close of business on September 17. Most Bank of China branches are open Mon-Fri 9am-6pm, Sat-Sun 10am-4pm.
