Free buses around the CBD
From Feb 1 all the garbage bins and other public facilities throughout the CBD will be stamped with the new CBD logo pictured left. Introduced to help strengthen the influence and recognition of the CBD name, the logo will also be attached to the recently introduced free shuttle buses that are ferrying white collar workers between subway and bus stops to their offices. The free bus service, which began in late December and is still in an initial trial phase, is similar to a scheme that was recently introduced over on Financial Street.
Introduced to improve the traffic situation around the Guomao area, the service is currently only available to those who have one of the 1,200 special bus cards that have been distributed to a limited number of building management companies in the area. If you're interested in getting your hands on a card, you should contact the wuye company in charge of your office building.
At the moment the service is limited to 6 buses running along 4 separate routes that mainly cover the northwestern sector of the CBD. There are plans to expand the range of the service. Buses run from 7.30-9am and 4.30-6pm, Monday to Friday.
